At the recent AICI Global Conference, I attended a session that hit me right in the gut (in the best way). It was led by Enrique Tsou and titled “Your Money Triangle: Mastering the Psychology of Your Business Identity.” He spoke about the three core roles we need to play in our businesses: Artist, Entrepreneur, and Manager.
When Enrique asked us to physically move into groups based on which role we identified with most, it was no surprise that almost every personal stylist in the room moved toward the Artist group. Stylists are, after all, creatives at heart. We love beauty, transformation, and aesthetics. But what Enrique said next really stuck with me: To be financially successful, you must embrace all three roles—not just the one that feels most comfortable.
This mirrors what I’ve seen again and again in my own work with stylists over the past decade. We often stay in the Artist role because it feels safe, fulfilling, and “us.” But it’s also where many of us get stuck. We resist stepping into the Entrepreneur role because we’re afraid we’ll have to “sell out” or sacrifice the soul of our work. That fear, while understandable, is holding us back from the financial and personal freedom we crave.

The idea of these three roles—Artist, Manager, Entrepreneur—was actually popularized by Tony Robbins in his teachings around “Business Identity.” According to Robbins:
👩🏻🎨The Artist is the creative visionary, passionate about the craft.
💼The Manager is the one who organizes, systematizes, and keeps everything running smoothly.
💰The Entrepreneur is the visionary risk-taker, focused on growth, profit, and innovation.
Most people are strong in one, maybe two of these areas. But the real magic happens when you develop the discipline to consciously step into all three roles when your business needs it.
Let me give you a real-world example from my Stylepreneur Accelerator Program. I was reviewing one of my client’s LinkedIn profiles recently, and I noticed something right away: the text was nearly impossible to read. The call to action was also weak and buried beneath design elements.
When I brought this up gently, she told me how important the aesthetics were to her as a stylist. And I completely get that. It’s our instinct to want our online presence to reflect our visual standards.
But here’s the truth I had to share with her: if your ideal client can’t quickly understand what you offer and how to work with you, no amount of pretty fonts or colours will convert them.
It was a moment of truth. She was clinging to the Artist identity—but she was also unintentionally sabotaging her ability to attract clients.
So we worked together to create a compromise—like any good marriage. We kept her visuals strong, but also added clear, legible text and a bold call to action. It still felt like her, but it now works to support her business goals, too.

This isn’t an isolated story. Over and over again, I see stylists hesitate when it comes to things like:
They worry it will make them look desperate, salesy, or like they’ve “sold out.” But what if I told you that stepping into the Entrepreneur role doesn’t mean compromising your art?
It means protecting it. It means making sure your artistry can reach more people, support you financially, and allow you to keep doing what you love for the long haul.
That’s exactly why I created my Stylepreneur Accelerator Program—because I saw so many incredibly talented stylists hiding behind the artistry, quietly struggling to make ends meet.

Learn how to grow your styling business the right way using the latest marketing and sales information to secure more paid bookings.
If you want to build a successful, sustainable styling business that gives you freedom, income, and impact, here’s what needs to happen:
1. Nurture Your Inner Entrepreneur
Start treating your business like a business. Get clear on your offer. Learn how to sell it. Set monthly income goals. Invest in the tools and training that help you grow, just like you would invest in beautiful clothing or accessories for a client.
2. Build Systems Like a Manager
Systems save time, create consistency, and reduce burnout. From client onboarding to email marketing to finances, having structure is what supports your creativity—not stifles it.
3. Let Your Artist Shine—But With Intention
Your artistic eye is what sets you apart. But it needs to work in harmony with a strategic brand message and a clear client journey. Design with purpose.
I know how hard you’ve worked to hone your skills, develop your signature aesthetic, and help your clients feel confident and seen. But none of that can reach its full potential if you’re stuck in feast-or-famine mode—or worse, if you’re on the verge of giving up because the business side feels “too hard.”
You do not have to choose between beauty and business. You can have both.
But you need support to get there.
My Stylepreneur Accelerator Program is designed specifically for stylists like you—stylists who want to stay true to their artistic roots and build a business that brings in a consistent flow of clients and income.
Inside, I’ll walk you step-by-step through developing the entrepreneurial skills that are so often missing in traditional styling training. You’ll learn how to attract clients consistently, create offers that convert, build systems that scale, and grow a business that truly supports your lifestyle.
