August Is Quiet for Stylists - and That’s a Beautiful Opportunity

Primary Blog/August Is Quiet for Stylists - and That’s a Beautiful Opportunity

There’s something about August that feels like a deep exhale.

If you're a personal stylist, you’ve probably noticed it too; inboxes quieten, clients go to ground, and suddenly the buzz of appointments and planning fades into the background.

That used to make me feel nervous. I’d worry that things had dried up, that I was doing something wrong, that the momentum I’d worked so hard to build was slipping away.

Now? I see it differently.

I see August as an invitation.

An invitation to pause, to reconnect, and to let inspiration come to me, instead of always chasing it.

The August Energy

This month, my clients are soaking up the last days of summer. They’re on beach trips, hosting barbecues, juggling the end-of-summer chaos before school begins again.

And honestly? I’m doing the same.

I’m walking in the forest. I’m swimming in the sea. I’m lingering over lazy breakfasts under the trees and enjoying chilled evenings by the pool.

I’m letting go of the pressure to push and leaning fully into presence  because this season won’t last forever.

But that doesn’t mean my business is on hold.

Far from it.

Why Slowing Down Can Be Strategic

One of the biggest mindset shifts I’ve had over the years is this:

Your business doesn’t have to be loud to be working.

In August, my business runs quietly in the background. My emails are still going out. My offers are still available. My content still gets discovered by the right people. The systems I’ve put in place mean I can take my foot off the gas and still trust that things are ticking over.

This is what I want for you, too.

Because burnout isn’t a badge of honour. And pushing harder isn’t always the answer. Especially when your soul is craving rest and play.

My August Strategy: Play + Nourishment

This August, I made a conscious choice to prioritise play, curiosity, and soulful learning.

I enrolled in a light, joy-filled course that blends marketing and astrology, two of my absolute loves. It’s not a "should-do," it’s a "want-to." And that’s the energy I’m craving right now.

I’ve been journaling outside with a coffee in hand. I’ve been brainstorming new ideas with zero pressure to implement them immediately. I’ve been letting the rhythm of the day guide me, not my to-do list.

And you know what? This kind of space often births the best ideas.

When we let go of gripping so tightly, inspiration often flows in through the cracks.

The Truth About Burnout in Styling

If you’re like many of the stylists I coach, you might be feeling tired.

Tired of always having to show up online. Tired of inconsistent bookings. Tired of the feast-or-famine cycle.

Maybe you took a step back this summer because life was full. Or maybe you’ve been on pause for longer, unsure how (or if) you even want to get back in.

I get it. I’ve been there.

The truth is, styling, while it’s beautiful, creative, and impactful can feel draining when it’s built without boundaries or strategy.

That’s why so many talented stylists burn out before they ever get to experience consistent, sustainable income.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

You Don’t Have to Hustle to Come Back

If you’ve been thinking about restarting, or reimagining, your styling business… let me say this clearly:

You don’t have to go full throttle.

You don’t need a 5-day challenge, a rebrand, or a flurry of Instagram posts to prove you’re “back.”

Sometimes, all it takes is one aligned step.

A gentle return. A soft yes. A small but strategic move that says:

“I’m ready to be seen again. I’m ready to explore what’s possible.”

What Would Nourish You This Month?

Maybe, like me, you’re craving a business that supports your lifestyle, not one that demands everything from you.

Maybe you want to work with lovely clients again, helping them rediscover their confidence through colour and style  but you also want long walks, slow mornings, and creative freedom.

So I want to ask you something…

What would nourish you this month?

❣️A quiet moment to journal about your next step?
❣️A little business learning you can do at your own pace?
❣️A toolkit to help you feel confident and professional again?

A Gentle Invitation to Begin Again

If your answer is yes to any of those things, I’d love to invite you to check out my Ultimate Stylist Starter Kit: Get Paid to Style.

It’s a simple, no-pressure resource designed for stylists who want to:

✅ Attract clients (without complicated tech)
✅ Start or restart their styling business with clarity
✅ Get the exact steps to go from invisible to booked
✅ Feel confident and visible again — even if it’s been a while

Think of it as a map back to momentum — one that works with your natural rhythm, not against it.

So if you’ve been waiting for a sign that it’s time to dip your toe back in… maybe this is it.

And remember: this doesn’t have to be a hustle. It can be a homecoming.

Honour the Season You’re In

Whether you’re deep in the forest, on a sandy beach, or still stuck in the busyness of daily life, know this:

You’re allowed to move at your own pace.
You’re allowed to start again, gently.
And you’re allowed to still love what you do without burning out from doing it.

This August, may you find pockets of peace.
May you let the quiet speak.
And may you remember, you don’t need to be louder or busier to be successful.

You just need to be aligned.

If now feels like the right time to explore what’s next, my Ultimate Stylist Starter Kit is waiting for you❣️
