Primary Blog/One Decision That Transformed My Life—And How You Can Be Part of the Next Big Move!

As a child, I was utterly enchanted by the magic of ballgowns. My days were filled with drawing impossibly beautiful gowns—the kind with puffy skirts, tight, dreamy waists, and sweetheart necklines, perhaps inspired by Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind. I spent countless hours sketching these stunning silhouettes, only to colour them in with every shade available to me. I loved every minute of it, and I can still remember the joy it brought me.

But like many childhood passions, this one fell away as I grew older. When the time came to think about a career, the advice I received leaned toward the practical—business, science, something reliable. And so I followed a different path, earning a degree in biotechnology and a master’s in food engineering. My first decade of working life was spent in food manufacturing, a far cry from the dreamy world of ballgowns I once lived in. Instead of swirling gowns, I donned uniforms, safety shoes, and mop caps every day.

Yet, as different as it was, I took pride in my work. The field was reliable, practical, and I felt secure. But deep down, something still stirred—a longing for that creative magic that had once filled my days.

Then, something unexpected happened. One day, as part of a wellbeing series at the plant, an image consultant came in to give a colour analysis demonstration. It was such a simple presentation, but I was enthralled. Something inside me lit up—it was as if all those childhood dreams of creating beauty resurfaced in an entirely new form. I was captivated by the idea that colour could transform how we present ourselves, enhance our natural beauty, and impact the way we feel.

At first, I fought against it. How could I leave a solid, reliable career for something that, at the time, felt so frivolous? I mean, colour analysis and styling seemed worlds apart from food engineering. Surely it was just a fleeting fancy.

But that love wouldn’t go away. It became a gentle yet persistent voice that kept pushing me toward something new, something unknown. I began to explore it more seriously, doing research and quietly immersing myself in this new world. Eventually, I took the leap, leaving behind my predictable career for something uncertain, something exhilarating. It was, without a doubt, one of the bravest and best decisions I have ever made.

Fast forward to today, and I now find myself living a life so far removed from those factory floors that it's hard to believe they were ever part of my story. But they were. And I cherish that journey because it taught me the value of bravery—of stepping into something new even when it feels scary. It taught me that sometimes the most improbable paths can be the ones that lead us to our greatest fulfillment.

Now, I imagine you've made that decision too—to step into this colourful world of styling and colour analysis, perhaps leaving behind something more “practical” in the eyes of society. It takes courage, but we both know that this work is far from frivolous. It has the power to transform lives, to help people express themselves, and to bring out their inner confidence. And this is just the beginning. We can’t stop here. We must continue to push ourselves out of our comfort zones and make brave decisions, just as we did when we first entered this field.

One of my dreams is for colour analysis to become mainstream—an integral part of our beauty and lifestyle decisions. I want it to be more than just a luxury service. I want it to be seen as a natural extension of self-care, something that helps us take the best possible care of ourselves and look our best. Colour analysis should be viewed as an act of love toward ourselves, a way to express who we are in every aspect of our lives—from makeup to hair to wardrobe, and even to the spaces we surround ourselves with.

But for this dream to become a reality, we need to step up. We need to show the world how transformative colour analysis can be and remove the perception that it’s an indulgence reserved for the wealthy or for special occasions. It’s something everyone deserves to experience, and it should be accessible to all.

This is why I’m so passionate about promoting colour analysis through the Guinness World Record Color Analysis Challenge. We are striving to create a new world record for the most colour consultations done within a 24-hour period. This is our chance to make a global impact, to show the world just how powerful this work is, and to bring more attention to the magic of colour analysis.

Imagine being part of something so big, something that could elevate colour analysis into the mainstream consciousness. By participating in this challenge, you’ll be helping to raise awareness and making history alongside a global community of passionate colour consultants. It’s an incredible opportunity to push the boundaries of what we do and to help others discover the beauty of finding their perfect colours.

I want to personally invite you to be a part of this historic event. If you’re a colour consultant, this is your chance to join us in making colour analysis a household name. Together, we can bring more beauty, confidence, and joy into people’s lives.
