I started my day with a clear objective: enhance my wardrobe with some high-quality timeless pieces. My shopping list was straightforward yet ambitious. I needed tailored trousers, as like many of us, my wardrobe was top-heavy—filled with shirts and blouses, but seriously lacking in versatile bottoms. Additionally, I sought a stylish day dress versatile enough to wear to anything from an upscale brunch to a sophisticated wedding. Finally, and perhaps most dauntingly, I required a flaterring gown for the upcoming AICI Global Conference in Manila.

​Given my height and size—which are outliers compared to the average local woman in Singapore—this was no minor task. I’ve experienced firsthand the challenge of shopping in environments where standard sizing simply doesn’t accommodate my needs. My first stop was Ted Baker—a beautiful boutique filled with lovely, floral, whimsical pieces. Gorgeous as these items were, nothing resonated with my unique Venus-in-Capricorn Image Code style personality. While enchanting on the hanger, I instinctively knew these pieces wouldn’t truly reflect or enhance my personal style or energy. With limited time and clarity of vision, I swiftly moved on.

Next was Metro—a local department store celebrated for its thoughtfully curated European and local brands. Within minutes of arriving, my stylist’s intuition activated. Next, high-waisted, straight-leg tailored trousers—impeccably structured and beautifully cut, these trousers seemed as though they'd been custom-made just for me. This versatile garment seamlessly resolved my practical wardrobe gap and enhanced numerous existing tops waiting patiently in my closet.

Lastly, a show-stopping maxi gown by Aidan Mattox caught my eye. The instant I slipped it on, magic happened: it fit flawlessly, enhancing my figure elegantly, with a quality that evoked confidence, poise, and glamour. I instantly visualized myself stepping confidently into the Manila conference, empowered and comfortable in my own skin.

Miraculously, each of these garments was discounted at an extraordinary 70% off. Yet, even without this discount, I would have joyfully paid full price. Why?
